Foreword
The presence of Star Wars in various media outside of the big screen has a positive influence in developing the lore. One of them is a video game, which “donates” a number of original characters that successfully enrich the Star Wars story. Here are a number of exclusive game characters who have had a big influence on the Star Wars lore.
Bastila Shan
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Among other Jedi Padawan, Bastila Shan has a unique Force power, namely Battle Meditation which is able to increase the morale of his comrades while reducing the enemy’s morale. After defeating Revan and keeping him alive through the Force, a close relationship develops between the two. Even though he was controlled by the dark side of the Force, he managed to “get back on the right path” with Revan’s help, thus strengthening their relationship even more.
Darth Nihilus
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
He is a famous Dark Lord of Sith who lived in the Old Republic era, known for having a very large Force ability. Even alone he was able to destroy the planet Katarr by absorbing the Force possessed by all living things in it!! Unlike other Sith Lords, Nihilus has no ambition to become ruler and never even cares about anything else, except getting more Force and eliminating all the Jedi!!
Darth Malak
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Born with the real name Alek, at first he was a Jedi Knight like Revan. But in their quest for revenge against the Mandalorian people, they are influenced by the dark side of the Force and defect to the Sith stronghold. After betraying his own comrades, he then raised himself as a Dark Lord by the name of Darth Malak and led an aggressive Empire army, by controlling territory after territory through brutal means. He was finally defeated by Revan who had converted.
Galen Marek
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Initially he was a student of Darth Vader who earned the nickname Starkiller, because it has great Force power and destructive nature. However, after being betrayed by his own teacher, he turned to support the Rebel Alliance, thus making him have to fight against the figure who had been his mentor. In the final battle Galen sacrificed himself to protect his comrades, and as a form of respect Princess Leia Organa chose the Galen family symbol as a symbol for the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
HK-47
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
When he was still a Sith Lord, Revan had a droid who was programmed to be a cold-blooded killer, namely HK-47. After his memory is erased, he is sold to the main character in Star Wars DIRTY who turns out to be Revan himself!! His nature that hates all forms of life is contrary to the owner who now sided with the good guys, giving rise to many interesting scenes (and dialogues) to watch during the game.
Juno Eclipse
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Starting from his duty as a pilot of the Empire’s Rogue Shadow, the plane that became Starkiller’s hideout, he began to know who the real figure who became Darth Vader’s secret disciple was. After accompanying him on various missions, the seeds of love finally emerge between the two. Juno faithfully continued to follow where Galen Marek went, even though it cost him even to betray the Empire. Now he is known as one of the most reliable pilots of the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Maris Brood
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Initially he was a student of the very talented Jedi Master Shaak Ti, but during the Great Jedi Purge he was separated from his teacher and stranded on the planet Felucia. Overwhelmed by fear and feeling that he has been betrayed by his own teacher, Maris Brood is finally overpowered by the dark side of the Force and even affects all life forms on the planet!! After being defeated by Starkiller aka Galen Marek, he again disappeared behind his hiding place so that his fate is unknown until now.
PROXY
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
PROXY is a holodroid who always accompanies Galen Marek wherever he goes, and has a very close friendly relationship with his master. But because he was originally programmed by Darth Vader to kill Galen as soon as the opportunity arose, as a form of cruel training for his student, the android always tries to carry out his duties well without knowing that his actions (if successful) will end their friendship.
Revan
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Gamers will certainly not think that Revan, the character they control from the start of the game, is actually a Sith Lord!! After being betrayed by his own student, Darth Malak, he is cared for by the Galactic Republic troops and brainwashed into turning against his own people. Even though his memory came back, Revan still chose to support the good guys camp. He is known as a reliable Lightsaber user and has a powerful Force ability.
Did You Know?
- Galen Marek’s nickname Starkiller was originally a name for Luke Skywalker, where in the initial draft he would be named Annikin Starkiller.
- In the Star Wars KOTOR II game, gamers can find equipment called Darth Malak’s Armor, although the shape is different from the original armor that Darth Malak wore in the first KOTOR.
- By using the cheat code MARISBROOD, Galen Marek can use the Maris Brood skin, although this prevents all cutscenes from being activated.
