Fox Finally Sets New Gambit Project Release Date

Finally a movie Gambit the “troubled” ones got a new release date. 20th Century Fox has announced that the film will be released on February 14, 2019 with Channing Tatum as the lead. Previously, this film had undergone several schedule changes before finally being pulled by Fox.

Details and storyline are still tightly closed but under the direction of visionary director Gore Verbinski (A Cure for Wellness), Gambit is expected to provide a new feel in the X-Men Universe. While the script will be done by Josh Zetumer (Patriots Day).

As we all know, this project has been developed by Fox for a long time, but it always has problems. One of them is that the main star, Channing Tatum, has also experienced “problems” with Fox and has resigned as the main player, but then Tatum returned to this film project after they managed to resolve the “problem”. Many directors have previously been linked with the project following the departure of Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Gambler) such as Joe Cornish, Shane Black (Iron Man 3) and F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton) and Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow). But all did not reach an agreement.

Gambit is one of three “X-Men” films that Fox is currently working on. X-Men: The New Mutants scheduled to be released on April 13 2018, followed by Deadpool 2 on June 1 2018, and X-Men: Dark Phoenix on November 2, 2018.
