Recently reports have surfaced saying that Microsoft is in talks to buy Discord. A game-focused chat platform with over 140 million monthly users. Microsoft itself offers a figure of around USD 10 billion or equivalent to IDR 143 trillion.
Reporting from Bloomberg, the talks between Microsoft and Discord are still in their early stages. Yes this is because no deal is being taken in the near future. Apart from all that, Discord reportedly prefers to stand alone rather than being owned by Microsoft.

Besides, Microsoft isn’t the only one interested in owning Discord. The names of Epic Games and Amazon are also rumored to be one of the potential owners of the largest chat platform. Although there has been no direct confirmation from Discord, Microsoft, Amazon or Epic Games regarding this.
Phil Spencer, speaking to Xbox, was also in the chat between Microsoft and Discord. According to reports, Discord is said to be the one reaching out to Microsoft to gauge interest in potential future sales. Even if it’s just speculation, it’s not impossible.
