The competitive realm of PUBG Mobile can be said to be growing rapidly until this December. How not, Tencent as the developer for the Mobile version has held many tournaments in 2019.
Seeing the growing potential, Tencent finally announced a new format for PUBG Mobile tournaments in 2020. This new system presents two major tournaments for PUBG Mobile, namely PUBG Mobile World League 2020 and World Championship.

Based on information said by James Yang, Recruited by Global Esports PUBG Mobile, Tencent has created a new format to determine which teams are entitled to appear in PUBG Mobile’s highest tournament.
The statement was made on the sidelines of the last PUBG Mobile Club Ope – Fall Split Global Finals which took place at the Putra World Trade Center, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Sunday (1/12/2019).
According to James, there are two highest tournaments for PUBG Mobile, namely the World League and the World Championship. This means, PMCO is not the highest tournament for PUBG Mobile next year.
However, PMCO is still present as the highest tournament for Country level in each Region.
PUBG Mobile Pro League, Tournaments for Each Region
In addition to PMCO, in the Country caste there is a tournament titled PUBG Mobile Pro League which was held in four Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The team that wins each region will qualify for the PUBG Mobile World League.
Not only Southeast Asia, Tencent also held PMPL in America and South Asia. Not only that, PUBG Mobile also targets semi-professional and amateur teams by introducing a tournament titled Campus Championship so that they can appear in the PMCO or Pro League.
Not only that, PUBG Mobile has prepared a total prize of around IDR 70 billion for Esports next year. Registration for PMCO and Pro League and other tournaments opens in January 2020, while the World League will begin in May and October 2020.
Seeing the movement made by Tencent, they seem very serious about building Esports on PUBG Mobile.
