An animation project based on the story of Jack and the Beanstalk,“Gigantic” Disney had to cancel. After experiencing a delay in the release schedule from 2018 to 2020, this project finally ran aground.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the main reason is the dead end of the creative process and the length of time the animation takes. Previously they had appointed Meg LeFauve and Nathan Greno to direct this film. Not only that, Disney has also hired Frozen songwriters Robert Lopez and Kirsten Anderson-Lopez to work on the music.
Gigantic is planned to be an animated musical film by changing the story idea a bit, namely the friendship between Jack and the female giant. In fact, the giant figure is a man and they are definitely not friends.
