Tencent Presents Full Support for AOV Indonesia's Esports Development

JAKARTA, INDONESIA – August 27, 2018 – I am proud of the selection of Arena of Valor as the only MOBA Mobile game that was demonstrated at the 2018 Asian Games, Tencent as the developer of the game announced its full support for AOV Indonesia.

Through a press conference held on August 27, 2018 at the Ritz Carlton, Sudirman, together with Garena Indonesia, Tencent expressed its seriousness to participate in building a more developed Indonesian esports ecosystem.

The press conference was attended by Eddy Lim as Chairman of IESPA, Fenfen You as Head of AOV Marketing Director, Icy Liu as AOV Global Esports Director, AOV national team athletes Indonesia and Thailand as well as representatives from professional Esports clubs EVOS ID, GGWP ID, BTR and RRQ who have contributed to the development of AOV Esports in Indonesia.

Indonesian badminton professional player Taufik Hidayat attended to support this event. As a new sport at the 2018 Asian Games, Taufik explained that esports games have some similarities with traditional sports at the Asian Games in general.

In the speech delivered by Fenfen You, a research from PricewaterhouseCoopers said that Indonesia will beat Germany and become the 5th largest economy in the world by 2030. Seeing this fact, Tencent believes that it is only a matter of time for the esports industry in Indonesia to rise and develop even more rapidly.

Icy Liu then explained in more detail the support plan that will be provided by Tencent to AOV Indonesia. According to Icy, there is a possibility that players in the esports industry in Indonesia have experienced several obstacles while participating in AOV esports matches.

To help overcome these problems, Tencent presents various programs, namely The First AOV Four Country League (Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines), AOV Esports Academy, Caster Hunt, Professional Training Environment, Cross Country Communication, More Exposure of Esports Club and Salary for Coach. With this program, Tencent and Garena hope not only to improve their skills technical level AOV players but also improve awareness and profit they are in the world of Esports.

Edwin as Head of AOV Indonesia Esports added a surprise on the day by announcing the newest prestigious AOV tournament that will be presented in Indonesia. AOV Star League Season 2 will be present starting on September 16, 2018 for all Challengers in Indonesia with a much larger total prize of 2.6 billion rupiah.
