Not wanting to be left behind, NYK Nemesis finally released their first TWS called AURORA W700. This time I will try the NYK Nemesis AURORA W700 review when playing competitive games like CS:GO to test whether these TWS earphones are really suitable for such gaming.
Since the brand with the fruit logo released its first TWS earphone product, maybe since then other brands have followed in its footsteps.
The gaming brand Razer, for example, when the author first released his TWS earphones, the author immediately bought them to become an early adopter and wanted to experience using TWS from a gaming brand.
The reason is, the TWS earphones that Apple has are specifically for listening to music, of course. But when there is a gaming brand that introduces TWS earphones specifically for gaming, of course it makes the author curious about the latency possessed by the TWS.
Check out the NYK Nemesis AURORA W700 review below.
Unboxing NYK Nemesis AURORA W700
This TWS box is thin, the front shows an image of the AURORA W700 itself. While on the back there are technical specifications and product images along with the charging case.
The contents of the NYK Nemesis AURORA W700 box include: a pair of TWS earphones, 2 sets of eartips, a charging cable, a charging case, and a manual.
These 2 sets of eartips are the smallest and the largest. While those already installed in TWS are of medium size.
Fat Oval TWS
The NYK Nemesis AURORA W700 has a fairly solid plastic material considering that these TWS earphones are not premium items. But this TWS is very light in weight and is IPX4 resistant to sweat and splashes of water so it doesn’t shock the skin.
The housing has a fat and thick shape so when I put it on the ear it really closes the ear canal.
The back has the letter N which seems to be an acronym for the NYK brand itself. This letter has lighting that can only glow green and orange as a mode indicator.
If it’s green it means it’s entering normal mode with a latency of 65ms. And the orange color means entering gaming mode with a faster latency than normal mode, which is 40ms.
How to change the mode is quite easy, just tap the earphone 3 times without pause.
This TWS seems long because the handle is indeed long. Here there is a print of the Nemesis logo in gray. Then the very bottom of the TWS is glossy silver. The author does not know the function of this silver part. Is it really just to make a different color impression for this full black TWS, or is there another function?
But this silver part is not a magnet, but aluminum.
Then the left and right earphone indicators are located in the TWS housing near the eartips. The letters are faint so it’s a bit difficult to see in the dark.
Then the question of the battery. The battery capacity of the AURORA W700 for each earphone is 50mA.
I’ve been using the AURORA W700 for days. The results of the author’s experience, these earphones last about 4 hours for non-stop use with a volume in the range of 90%.
Large Capacity Fat Charging Case
Continue to the matter of the dock charging case.
Never before have I seen a TWS earphone charging case as big as the AURORA W700.
The shape is like One Piece-style ships that are thick down and not long forward.
So this case does seem tall but also fat or wide.
This plastic case material has the Nemesis logo on the top cover. The rest is completely blank. Except for the front of the case, which has 4 holes as a light indicator for the battery capacity currently owned by the case.
Then we can open the cover easily from the front. The author is a bit confused by this TWS earphone cover model. For some reason it was made as if it was sinking and the body was made a little higher than the cover. This makes it difficult for the author to open the cover from the side, for example.
After the cover is open, the left side of the case is for the right earphone. And the left earphone is charged on the right side of the case. So in the opposite direction.
The capacity of the dock charging case is 1000mA.
Maybe this is the reason why the AURORA W700 charging case looks big like One Piece-style ships. Yes, because the capacity is indeed large considering the earphone battery is only 50mA.
Charging the battery charging case to full it takes approximately 2 hours.
Gaming and Music Testing
The NYK Nemesis AURORA W700 carries Bluetooth 5.0. The range itself can be up to 8 meters more. The author himself tried to use this TWS by connecting to a smartphone. The author’s smartphone is placed on the table in the writer’s room on the 2nd floor.
When the writer came down the stairs, which was about 8 meters from the table, the voice was still felt, there was no break. But only then, as you go deeper, will the sound begin to falter.
Then the author tried these TWS earphones for gaming use such as CS:GO and listening to music.
When playing CS:GO, because the delay that NYK Nemesis claims is at 40ms for gaming mode, I can still really feel the delay.
This has an impact on the game because the enemy’s steps and gunshots are too late. Therefore, the author does not recommend these TWS earphones for competitive gaming. It would be nice if you only used it for casual gaming like playing The Sims 4, for example.
Then when listening to music, the sound that TWS produces is more in the direction of balance. The bass also feels solid. Then also the resulting sound seems clear and not crackle.
If the author feels, the 50% volume can block any sound from outside. Writers playing music with loud speakers alone are almost inaudible. So you don’t need to be full to feel your own world.
Microphone Test
Not only as a sound producer, this TWS also has a microphone.
The author tries to record via a smartphone.
According to the author, the recording results really feel crispy, like the recording sound that has been given a noise suppression filter. Because the incoming noise is minimal. It’s just that the results make the recorded sound tends to be less deep or natural.
Here’s the recording.
What do you think? Is the recorded voice suitable for wide-scale use from making calls to Discord fun?
Pros
The charging case has a large capacity battery
Balanced sound with solid bass
Bluetooth range can be more than 10 meters
Bonus 2 sets of ear tips
Cons
The charging case looks big
The long shape of the TWS earphones
Delay still feels
Microphone recording is not natural
