(NASDAQ: WDC), the world’s data storage solutions technology leader, today announced the provision of data centers cloud and hyperscale with the capacity required by big data applications via the world’s first 14TB enterprise-class hard drive with technology host-managed shingled magnetic recording (SMR). Western Digital’s HGST Ultrastar® Hs14 brand delivers 40 percent more capacity and is twice as big assequential write performance The previous SMR, made it possible to be more economical and efficient in capturing the growth and volume of various data.
